Brian Keltner

“Sometimes ugly is good enough…”

Brian Keltner is a retired law enforcement officer from California. He served for 4 years in the military police before embarking on his 29 years as a gunslinger, working in a variety of roles in LA and Orange County, from detective to court liaison. He lives with his wife, their two children and an amazing service dog, Kylo Ren.

Having a child with special needs and having a deep understanding of what that entails, Brian became the founder of Warrior Hearted Special Children’s Foundation, an organization that helps families of special needs children in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Now he has added author to his list of achievements and his book, Hardly a Hero, is a YA action/crime drama which is written as a serial and which will appeal to young readers of the superhero genre.

In his free time Brian was a competitive shooter, competed in triathlons, rans marathons and had added ultra-distance running to his list of achievements, including the grueling Baker to Vegas, a 120 mile route through the desert, which he completed in 31 hours without sleep.

A lifelong athlete, Brian also enjoys many forms of unarmed combat, swimming and fencing, and has plans to cycle across America one day. When he wants to relax it is often by making socializing with friends over good food and wine, cooking or spending time outdoors, hiking and camping.

Brian’s ultimate goal in life is to see his children happy and following their own passions. He has hopes that his books will reach their target audience and be the start of something that will gather pace and perhaps one day be picked up for TV.
